I want to touch upon the ongoing discussion of PC verses Mac for Music Production. Now since this boils down to preference and opinion in the end, I wanted to give my opinion and why I have that opinion. Although I do use both myself, I to prefer Macs over PC for music production and here is why. I prefer Macs over PC because first off all Macs are the most common and preferred method of music production in the industry. In my personal experience they are more reliable, responsive and build for the job even with the market standard at the time. Meaning that you can get the newest version of the standard Mac Book Pro and be set right off the bat to start producing music with the specifications that Mac Books are equipped with. PCs are a little trickier and you actually have to do more research to make sure you are getting something that will reliably run what you want to run, be it Pro Tools or other Digital Audio Workstations. I am not saying however that you cannot get a PC that is up to par with Macs products. I am saying that with all the different brands of PCs, it is a lot harder find one that you know will be sufficient. Although it might be worth the research since PCs, even the high end ones, are much cheaper. Also a downside to Mac laptops is customization. The hardware you get is what you get besides a R.A.M. upgrade. In conclusion, Macs and PCs are both great contestants for producing music. As I stated before it really boils down to preference of operating systems and the work you want to put into it.
